Elder Claudio D. Zivic was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 31, 2007, at age 58. He served previously as an Area Seventy and as a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy in the South America South Area, from April 1997 to August 2002. As a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, Elder Zivic served from August 2007 to August 2010 as second and first counselor in the presidency of the same area. He served as an Assistant Executive Director in the Temple Department and as a member of the Boundary and Leadership Change Committee from August 2010 to August 2012. He currently serves as second counselor in the Caribbean Area Presidency.
Prior to his call as a General Authority, Elder Zivic served in numerous Church callings over the years, including elders quorum president, institute teacher, bishop’s counselor, bishop, stake high councilor, stake president’s counselor and temple ordinance worker. He served as a regional representative in Argentina, as an Area Authority in the South America South Area, and as president of the Spain Bilbao Mission.
Elder Zivic is a certified public accountant. He attended the University of Buenos Aires, graduating in 1973 with an accounting degree. For more than ten years he worked as an executive for the Grimoldi Company, a shoe manufacturing and marketing firm. At the time of his call to full-time Church service, he was self-employed as an auditor and consultant.
Claudio Daniel Zivic was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December 1948. He married Dina Noemí Alvarez in 1972. They are the parents of five children and nine grandchildren and reside in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
